We are building a feature film slate from the ground up, and the people we hire now will shape how we develop, finance, produce, and deliver our films. Role Summary The Feature Film Production Accountant will manage overall cash flow, tax incentive filings, multi-project payroll, and cost reporting to investors, and gives studio leadership a clear and reliable view of the financial position of every film. Key Responsibilities Manage cash flow for each production, including funding requests, bank accounts, and payment runs Prepare and maintain production budgets, weekly cost reports, and estimated final cost (EFC) reports Prepare and file tax incentive and production services tax credit applications, and maintain supporting documentation Administer multi-project payroll, including union and non-union crew, cast, and residuals as applicable Process accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, and vendor payments Prepare cost reports and financial reporting for investors, financiers, and completion guarantors Reconcile accounts, manage month-end close, and coordinate with ZenaTech Finance and external auditors Manage payroll remittances and statutory filings (e.g., WorkSafeBC, employer health tax, GST/HST, or applicable U.S. equivalents) Partner with the Line Producer and Production Coordinator on budget tracking and crew paperwork Set up accounting structures, chart of accounts, and controls for new productions and the wider film slate Qualifications 2-4 years of accounting experience, including production accounting on feature films or comparable scripted content Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent experience, or progress toward one Proficiency with production accounting software such as Entertainment Partners SmartAccounting, Movie Magic Budgeting, or similar Hands-on experience with tax incentive and tax credit filings Experience administering union and non-union payroll Strong cost reporting, cash flow management, and reconciliation skills High attention to detail, strong ethics, and the ability to work under tight deadlines Experience with cross-border productions and multiple currencies Artificial Intelligence We use artificial intelligence to review and screen applications and materials.
