Since 2017, the company has leveraged its software development expertise and expanded its drone design and manufacturing capabilities through ZenaDrone to innovate and enhance customer inspection, monitoring, safety, security, compliance, and surveying processes. ZenaTech serves over 100 enterprise software customers in law enforcement, government, and industrial sectors, with drones used in agriculture, defense, and logistics industries. The company has offices in North America, Europe, and the UAE. Job Overview ZenaTech is looking for a Media Writer to join our creative team in our new movie division, ZenaStudios, in Vancouver, BC. This is an adjacent role to our Screenwriters, focused on promotional and supporting materials for our film projects — vertical dramas, social media videos, press kits, coverage, internal documentation, and more. You'll help keep the promotional aspects of our film slate creative, organized and on track. This role suits someone with strong video and promotional copywriting ability who wants to work in the film industry and learn from an experienced screenwriter, without needing a screenwriting portfolio themselves. Key Responsibilities Production & Promotional Writing Write and maintain vertical dramas, social media videos, press kit materials, and other associated documentation based on direction from our screenwriters, producers, and ZenaStudios leadership. Draft pitch decks, one-pagers, and other materials used to present projects internally or to partners. Support table reads and creative reviews with prepared materials (character sheets, scene summaries, revision pages). Assist with any promotional or marketing copy needed for ZenaStudios projects. Creative Collaboration & Process Work closely with the Screenwriters, producers, and director, supporting their process. Manage your own writing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Incorporate feedback constructively and revise materials efficiently. Maintain a well-organized record of drafts, treatments, and notes for ongoing reference. Writers' Room Support Sit in on writers' room sessions, taking structured notes on story breaks, pitches, and workshopped scenes. Organize and distribute notes, revision history, and outlines so the team can track changes across drafts. Help turn brainstormed ideas into clear written outlines the Screenwriters can develop further. Supporting Documentation Prepare script coverage notes and readable summaries of drafts for producers and leadership. Research subject matter to support script accuracy and provide background material to the writers' room. Core Requirements 1–3 years of professional writing experience (any of: screenwriting, journalism, content writing, copywriting, script coordination, or similar). Excellent written communication with a sharp eye for clarity, structure, and tone. Strong research skills and ability to quickly understand and accurately represent subject matter. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines simultaneously. Collaborative by nature, with a positive attitude toward feedback and iteration. Genuine interest in film and story development. Nice to Have Familiarity with screenplay format and film production workflows. Experience with script coverage, treatments, or pitch decks. Experience working in or supporting a writers' room. Diploma or degree in Screenwriting, Film, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field.
