Job Overview: ZenaTech, Inc. is hiring a Senior Accountant responsible for maintaining and analyzing an organization's financial records and working with several subsidiaries to develop record-keeping consistency. They will handle essential accounting functions, such as preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, bringing accounting consistencies across subsidiaries and assisting the CFO and auditors with financial management and reporting needs. They will ensure consistency of financial records across our subsidiaries and offices, accuracy, compliance with regulations, and support in the decision-making processes. The role will also require the candidate to train junior accountants, located in our subsidiaries, to maintain records that our consistent with our internal processes. Holding an active CPA is a must for this role. Key Responsibilities: Accounting/Record-Keeping Oversee monthly bookkeeping for multiple companies using Quickbooks and other accounting software Overseeing the creation and maintenance of accurate customer and vendor records within the accounting system. Overseeing bank/credit card reconciliations, AP, AR, and payroll entries. Approving vendor invoices for payment and/or processing payments. Drive month-end close activities, review monthly financial reports for accuracy and tax readiness, general ledger reconciliations-as well as intercompany reconciliations. Keep company records, SOPs, and internal notes up to date. Assisting the CFO and the finance team with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits. Act as a liaison between acquired companies, internal teams and auditors to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution Ability to research and implement province-specific accounting and tax procedures and other regulatory needs Other responsibilities within the Accounting and Finance Team. Project Management Collaborate with junior accountants across our subsidiaries to develop and maintain standardized financials records Ensure all subsidiaries follow the standards and record keeping procedures Train, mentor and quality check the work of junior accountants Ensure monthly and quarterly books are up to date Assist in hiring junior accountants Qualifications: Having minimum 7-10 years of experience in finance, and accounting roles. Experience with provincial accounting, tax and regulatory needs Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience directly related to the position. Holding an active Chartered Professional Accountant certification is a must for this role Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in finance and operational tasks. Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with colleagues. Ability to prioritize, work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
