Position Overview: The Senior Analyst, Job Costing & Margin is responsible for making profitability visible at the point where it is created or lost: the individual job. This role serves as the organization's subject matter expert in job costing, margin measurement, and operational profitability analysis, providing the insights needed to improve pricing, execution, and resource allocation across North America. Working at the intersection of Finance and Operations, the Senior Analyst develops and maintains standardized job costing methodologies, reconciles operational and financial results, and delivers actionable margin reporting across branches, service lines, customers, job types, and crews. The role identifies opportunities to improve profitability by highlighting underperforming jobs, contracts, and customer relationships, while modeling the financial impact of operational decisions before implementation. As the owner of the North American job costing framework, the Senior Analyst establishes best practices and standards that support consistency across the business and serve as the benchmark for international counterparts. Through rigorous analysis, strong financial controls, and data-driven recommendations, this position enables leaders to understand the true drivers of margin performance and make informed decisions that enhance profitability and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities Build and maintain the job costing model across all North American branches and source systems Produce gross margin reporting by branch, service line, customer, job type, and crew Reconcile operational job costing to the general ledger each period Identify and quantify the bottom decile of jobs, customers, and contracts by margin Model the margin impact of proposed operational changes before they are made Set the job costing standard the London counterpart applies in Europe Requirements 5+ years in cost accounting, FP&A, or operations analytics in a services business Deep job costing and contribution margin expertise Advanced SQL and Excel; BI tooling Experience reconciling operational data to financial statements CPA or CMA an asset, not required Artificial Intelligence We use artificial intelligence to review and screen applications and materials.
