We’re hiring full-time Food Service Supervisors to join the passionate and celebrated SMU Dining Services team at Saint Mary's University in Halifax! longside a manager who will help coordinate and lead operations, you’ll help oversee staff, collaborate with teammates, and help where needed. Job Responsibilities Supervise the day-to-day operations for the food service and operations on the floor Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management and record keeping Proactively manage food and labour cost controls Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed Assist Manager with managing team performance Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe and verify deposits Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees Follow all policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, health, wage and hour At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.Qualifications 3+ years' leadership experience experience required 1+ years' food services experience required Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint Flexible schedule as some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
