The Opportunity: We're looking to fill an opening for a Director, Manager Research & Oversight to join our Investment Management team. Reporting to the VP, Manager Research & Oversight, the Director, Manager Research & Oversight is responsible for leading the manager research and oversight function for NEI Investments and the Managed Asset Program (MAP). The Director oversees manager selection, due diligence, sub-advisor oversight across public markets, private markets, and liquid alternatives. The Director will lead a high-performing research team responsible for advancing analytical capabilities, strengthen manager relationships, and enhancing investment performance, to support the future growth of the platform. You hold yourself accountable and continuously look for ways to improve What your day looks like: Lead, develop and oversee the Manager Research & Oversight team, setting priorities, elevating research quality, and building a high-performance function across public markets, private markets and liquid alternatives Drive and implement the research agenda and investment process Provide thought leadership on manager selection, oversight and asset allocation Conduct ongoing manager research to review managers/strategies and keep up-to-date the trend in institutional investment industry for opportunities to upgrade strategy or launch new products Lead manager searches, due diligence and selection recommendations for new and existing investment strategies, presenting clear, evidence-based conclusions to senior leadership Monitor and evaluate the performance of all products, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation Help drive the strategic vision for manager research and oversight, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry innovation Provide actionable insights and investment recommendations to senior leadership based on manager performance and market conditions Continuously enhance the research and oversight framework, including due diligence standards, monitoring tools, performance attribution and the use of quantitative analytics to improve decision-making Act as a subject matter expert on investment products, providing investment insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners. Present investment strategies and performance updates to clients and the sales team, ensuring clarity, confidence, and alignment with client objectives Your experience and skills: University Degree in Business, science, math or any quantitative fields CFA charter holder Any additional finance related professional designations are an asset (CAIA, CPA, etc.) Master’s degree in business, finance or one that utilizes statistical models (Economics, Math, etc.) is an asset 8-10+ years’ progressive investment industry manager research work experience in asset management, wealth management or investment consulting Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development Proven track record of evaluating and managing relationships with external investment managers Proven ability to lead investment teams and influence senior stakeholders Advanced skills or able to very quickly learn analytical tools such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Copilot, and Factset Strong written and oral communication skills. Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset Experience in researching global institutional investment strategies and making recommendations Strong understanding of multi-asset investment strategies, investment products, and portfolio construction Experience in using large amounts of data, python, or quantitative investment techniques is an asset Why Aviso Wealth?
