Union: ONA Number of vacancies: 1 New or Replacement Position: Replacement Site: Toronto Rehabilitation Institute - E.W Bickle Centre Department: Hemodialysis Reports to: Nurse Manager Salary Rance: $41.15 - 58.98 per hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: 1100-2300 Status: Permanent Full Time Toronto Rehabilitation provides hemodialysis at Bickle Centre site. The unit provides hemodialysis for patients who are post-acute care hospitalization. These patients are attending Low Tolerance and Long Duration (LTLD), Geriatric rehabilitation or Complex Continuing Care. We provide daily and conventional hemodialysisThe nurse is to provide safe and competent care through application of nursing knowledge specific to hemodialysis, technical aspects of professional practice and demonstrates professionalism and respect Responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Participate in professional, program and hospital wide initiatives, including self professional development Provides leadership, supervision and mentorship to new staff when needed Compliance with and commitment to patient’s safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patientsBSCN preferred Member in good standing with College of Nurses Nephrology Nursing Certification CNeph or willing to complete within 2 years Current Hemodialysis Experience preferred Member of CANNT Excellent patient assessment skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support ( C level) Heart Saver Plus (Canada) Superior clinical decision-making skills that reflect patient centredness, problem solving and critical thinking Demonstrates knowledge, skill and judgement in the application of hemodialysis Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of nursing standards as they apply to the care of patients with chronic kidney disease Computer proficiency is required or willing to pursue computer training Proficiency with the EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system is an asset. Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred, along with current hemodialysis experience; applicants must be in good standing with the College of Nurses and hold Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Nephrology Nursing Certification (CNeph) is required or must be completed within two years, and candidates should demonstrate strong assessment, communication, clinical judgment, hemodialysis, and computer skills; EPIC experience is an asset.
