THE ROLE As an Editor, you will plan, organize, and manage operations related to the content, style, language quality, and layout of Servir newspaper. You will stay abreast of military news and developments, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) publications, and foreign media reports, as required. You will liaise with various CAF units throughout the region to report on events within the local military community. You will work closely with Public Affairs Officers and their Imagery Sections. You will also collaborate with the Advertising Representative to integrate advertising content into the newspaper. You will work within the Integrated Services (Communications and Marketing) Department of Personnel Support Programs (PSP). In this role, you will contribute to the Military Community Guide – Montreal Region, departmental newsletters, and the creation of content for social media platforms. Qualifications Needed Education, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations, or a related field, AND some years of experience in journalism, communication, public relations or in a related field. Experience In collecting information through interviews and analyzing In verifying copy for accuracy In writing articles following journalism guidelines In operating a digital camera In personnel management In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership. Requirements

A college diploma or certificate in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field is required, along with some years of relevant experience. Candidates need experience gathering and analyzing information, verifying and writing copy, using a digital camera and common office software, and must meet advanced English/French reading and writing requirements and functional oral interaction requirements.
