Choices Markets’ production facility on Marine Way near Boundary Road has an opening for a full time Production Receiver. Shifts are Sunday to Thursday. Our production facility is only a few years old and boasts an impressive array of Deli, Bakery and Bulk Foods operations. We also have our Marine Way store at the same location. The Production Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, documenting, and organizing all incoming products and supplies. This position supports inventory accuracy, food safety, production efficiency, and the timely distribution of products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Receive and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips. * Inspect products for quality, quantity, damage, expiry dates, and correct temperatures. * Report shortages, damages, substitutions, or quality concerns immediately. * Accurately complete receiving paperwork and enter information into the inventory system. * Ensure refrigerated and frozen products are stored promptly. * Rotate inventory using FIFO/FEFO procedures. * Organize and maintain the warehouse, coolers, freezers, and receiving areas. * Prepare and stage products for production or internal department transfers. * Assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies. * Communicate with suppliers, drivers, department leads, and management. * Follow food-safety, sanitation, allergen-control, and workplace-safety procedures. * Remove waste, cardboard, and pallets from receiving areas as required. * Help load or unload trucks and support other warehouse duties when needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS * Previous warehouse, receiving, grocery, distribution, or food-production experience. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to read purchase orders, invoices, product labels, lot codes, and expiry dates. * Basic computer and inventory-system skills. * Clear verbal and written communication. * Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deliveries. * Experience working with refrigerated and frozen products is preferred. * Forklift or pallet-jack certification is an asset. * Food Safe certification is an asset or may be required. PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds. * Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. * Ability to work in coolers, freezers, and varying temperatures. * Must wear required personal protective equipment and follow safe-lifting procedures. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS The employee should be evaluated on: * Receiving and inventory accuracy. * Timely processing and storage of deliveries. * Product quality and temperature-control compliance. * Cleanliness and organization of receiving and storage areas. * Accurate completion of documentation. * Communication of shortages, damages, and discrepancies. * Attendance, punctuality, and reliability. * Compliance with food-safety and workplace-safety requirements.
