Job summary
Reporting to the Store Manager, Responsibilities for this position include the following: 1. To demonstrate alignment with Saskatoon Co-op Brand and Values 2. To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude 3. To wear the accepted Co-op uniform and Personal Protective Equipment as required 4. To be dependable for all scheduled shifts 5. To meet the expectations of internal and external customers. 6. To perform all tasks required in a liquor store including but not limited to: store opening and closing, cashier, stocking, receiving, preparing commercial and online orders, snow removal, cleaning and sanitizing 7. To understand products and services we offer in order to promote the sale of goods and services to meet the needs, requirements and expectations of our customers. 8. To order, receive and display merchandise as directed and per Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures. 9. To efficiently operate the point-of-sale system and conduct financial transactions in adherence with Saskatoon Co-op policies. 10. To proficiently and safely operate the manual and power mobile equipment in the store 11. To adhere to loss prevention policies and strategies. 12. To review and act on various P.O.S. reports as they pertain to the section and as directed by the manager. 13. To understand and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures, in particular adhering to the Selling Age Restricted Items policy 14. To ensure that a neat, clean, and orderly location is maintained at all times 15. To perform all duties as assigned Qualifications * Must be at least 19 years of age. * Have or willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan. * Must be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner * Must be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and training sessions * Must have the demonstrated ability to fulfill physical job requirements including: lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs. of force occasionally, 10-20 lbs. of force constantly, and the ability to climb ladders * Experience in the liquor industry will be considered an asset * Preference will be given to those who possess enhanced knowledge of wine, spirits and beer. (Writing a product knowledge test may be required to determine eligibility). * Must be able to work: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. *a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Candidates must be at least 19 years of age and possess or be willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan certification. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and the flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
