Job Description: Title: PowerBI / Software Developer Type: Contract Duration: 6 months Location: Toronto, ON Mode: Hybrid (Wednesday and Thursday on-site) Pay range: Open range We are looking for a Power BI Developer / Software Developer to join its Capital Markets Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Power BI development and Power BI Embedded, along with software development and API integration experience. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic models. Embed Power BI reports into enterprise/web applications using Power BI SDKs and REST APIs. Implement Power BI Embedded, embed tokens, workspaces, Azure AD/service principals, and RLS. Build and integrate REST APIs using JavaScript/Node.js and support cloud-native applications. Work with SQL, data modeling, performance optimization, and reporting datasets. Support CI/CD, GitHub/GitHub Actions, governance, security, and production deployments. Key Requirements: 10+ years software development experience. Strong Power BI development experience. Hands-on Power BI SDK + Power BI Embedded experience is critical. Experience embedding Power BI reports into custom/enterprise applications. Strong DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, SQL, and REST API knowledge. JavaScript/Node.js and modern software development experience. Exposure to Azure, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and cloud-native development is a plus. Candidates should also have experience with embedded reporting, DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, SQL, REST APIs, and JavaScript or Node.js; Azure, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and cloud-native development are advantageous.
