The Loading Dock Operator is responsible for logistics, safety adherence, and facilitating the smooth movement of trucks and deliveries. Additionally, they coordinate service elevators, assist in waste removal program monitoring, and contribute to maintaining a high standard of service in shipping/receiving operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee access for couriers and contractors to various floors. Manage the entire loading dock bay to ensure efficiency and safety. Schedule preventive maintenance for equipment in the loading dock. Logistically ensure free movement of trucks and deliveries around the loading dock. Ensure adherence to safety measures by all visitors. Direct contractors delivering and collecting goods to and from tenant(s). Maintain the Shipping/Receiving office and the Loading Dock area. Provide written reports to the Operations Manager. Keep up-to-date logs of activities. Assist in monitoring the waste removal program and ordering garbage containers as needed. Coordinate service elevators. What you’ll bring 1 to 2 years of related work experience. Trained in proper materials handling for day-to-day shipping and receiving operations. Experience in the safe operation of electric and manual pallet trucks. Experience in the safe delivery and handling of WHMIS-related products. WHMIS/First Aid Training. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Organized and detail oriented. Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
