Responsibilities: Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across Saskatoon Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Saskatoon in a safe, timely, and professional manner Operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards Transport general freight in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs. Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required Core Requirements Valid Class 1 driver's license (manual transmission required) Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year) Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions Physically able to lift to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class 1 truck driving experience Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding areas Specialized Equipment Previous experience operating specialized equipment, including tailgates, forklifts, power and manual pallet jacks, pump trucks, or Moffett's Physical Requirements Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required Why People Love Working at Canada Cartage Canada Cartage offers a supportive, team-oriented workplace built on collaboration and respect, with opportunities for career growth and development.
