As a Security Guard with Commissionaires Nova Scotia, you will play an important role in protecting people, property, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining our reputation for providing the highest quality security services in Nova Scotia. Key Responsibilities Provide a professional, courteous, and welcoming presence while delivering exceptional customer service. Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to help maintain a safe and secure environment. Monitor and control access to facilities in accordance with site-specific security procedures. Verify identification, credentials, and visitor access as required. Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and client requests. Complete accurate reports, occurrence reports, logs, and other required documentation. Monitor security systems, cameras, and alarms where applicable. Follow all site-specific security procedures, Commissionaires Nova Scotia policies, and client requirements. Communicate effectively with clients, visitors, coworkers, and emergency responders. Report hazards, safety concerns, suspicious activity, or security breaches promptly. Maintain a high standard of appearance, professionalism, and conduct while on duty. Participate in required training and maintain all required certifications and security clearances. Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements. Education: Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable equivalent of education and security experience. Skills and Abilities: With proven leadership experience, be highly collaborative, solutions oriented, organized and able to manage competing priorities. Basic Requirements: · Be able to understand and command a comprehensive working knowledge of National Defence Security Orders and Directives (NDSODs), DND Security Orders, MARLANTORDS, and all other pertinent DND orders and directives. · Be able to understand and command a comprehensive working knowledge of Nova Scotia Labour Law, Human Rights Act and Workers Compensation Act. · Have eligibility to work in Canada. · Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted. · Have a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and be able to attain a DND 404 License. · Able to complete a criminal record check and credentialing. · Are eligible to apply for, and attain, a Government of Canada personnel security screening. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and be eligible for Government of Canada security screening. Requirements include a valid Nova Scotia Driver's License, no criminal record, and the ability to understand DND security orders and provincial labor laws.
