GardaWorld is hiring Full-Time Permanent Security Guards for a busy commercial property in downtown Edmonton. In this highly visible role, you will interact daily with tenants, visitors, executives, contractors, and members of the public. Success in this position requires strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide concierge-style customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment. Competitive pay of $19.19/hour Full-time permanent employment Paid training ($15.00/hour during training) Comprehensive health benefits Rewards and recognition programs Career growth and advancement opportunities Work with one of Canada's leading security companies Responsibilities for Downtown Commercial Security Guard Maintain a professional and visible security presence Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to tenants, visitors, and the public Monitor CCTV systems, access control systems, and high-traffic areas Conduct interior, exterior, perimeter, and parkade patrols Respond to security incidents, fire alarms, access control alarms, and building emergencies Identify and address suspicious activity, safety hazards, and disturbances Apply effective de-escalation techniques in challenging situations Coordinate with emergency responders when required Complete accurate Daily Occurrence Reports and incident reports Maintain professional radio communications Assist with evacuations and emergency response procedures Collaborate closely with building management and site stakeholders Qualifications for Downtown Commercial Security Guard Be authorized to work in Canada Valid Alberta Security Services Licence Previous security experience is considered an asset Use of Force training is an asset; however, paid Use of Force training will be provided to successful candidates selected for this position. High level of verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service abilities Professional appearance and demeanor Strong situational awareness and observational skills Ability to confidently engage with the public Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills Available to work up to 12-hour shifts Ability to work day or night rotation This could be more than a job!
