We are currently seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. Summary The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, with a primary focus on accounts payable and general office duties. This role supports the operational functions of the accounting department and ensures financial records are accurately maintained. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold a high standard of customer service. Duties And Responsibilities Record and review accounts, and prioritize collection activities in a timely and accurate manner Contact customers to secure payment and follow up on outstanding accounts Resolve issues related to payment delays or discrepancies Communicate account status updates to the Controller and other finance management Perform basic accounting functions including preparing and issuing documents such as bills, invoices, reports, and account statements using a computerized system Maintain accurate data entry, track documents, and ensure records are up to date Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients Participate in and support all Safety and Health initiatives Perform other related clerical duties as assigned Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping required Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with general accounting practices, including journal entries and debit/credit memos—preferably in an accounts payable environment Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, able to manage multiple priorities Strong problem-solving abilities, able to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of Gardewine computer systems is considered an asset Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team Understanding of and adherence to Safety & Health policies and procedures Physical Requirements Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: prolonged sitting and using a computer and telephone for entire shift etc. Benefits And Perks Manitoba’s Largest Trucking Company 35 Terminals across North America Competitive compensation Comprehensive group health benefits Company Matched Pension Plan Profit Share Program At Gardewine, we are committed to continually improving our approach to building a diverse, inclusive, and value driven workplace.
