Our not-for-profit client is seeking a Director of Communications and Marketing for a permanent position leading its communications, marketing, media relations, and public engagement activities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement communications, marketing, and public relations strategies. Lead the production of publications, campaigns, digital content, and the annual report. Oversee the organization’s website, social media channels, and brand standards. Build media relationships, respond to inquiries, and advise leadership on sensitive issues. Serve as a spokesperson for major announcements and public events. Provide communications advice across departments and lead special projects and events. Supervise and develop communications staff and contribute to planning and budget discussions. Qualifications: Education in communications, journalism, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least five years of successful experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, including at least three years supervising staff. Experience developing communications strategies and managing media relations and digital channels. Knowledge of public policy issues related to race relations, discrimination, and anti-racism. Strong writing, judgment, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines. Experience in a not-for-profit or association setting is preferred.
