About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic, highly organized, strategic rapport builder to join our team as a MAPP Coordinator. Working very closely with a partner organization, the position will focus on engaging key stakeholders and TFWs (Temporary Foreign Workers) in 3–5 different communities with objectives to:
Increase migrant workers awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities through educational activities and information products. Foster inclusion and welcoming of migrant workers through social, cultural, and/or recreational events. Create new partnerships or leverage existing partnerships/networks to support migrant workers. Develop and implement coordinated approaches among community organizations, and/or build their capacity and knowledge to provide resources and services to migrant workers. Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders and engagement with migrant workers to ensure responsive and informed activities and create improved outcomes for migrant workers community connection.
In this Role, You Will
Consult and coordinate the engagement of key stakeholders and contacts in meeting the MAPP project deliverables. Consult, guide and supervise the engagement of the MAPP project plan with partner organizations in developing all the project deliverables to ensure that the project meets and exceeds the set targets. Facilitate regular meetings of partners and stakeholders to stimulate collaborative communication and development of collaborative efforts among stakeholders and share educational materials that might benefit migrant workers for dissemination. Outreach and liaise with other Service Provider organizations in the region to develop partnerships, share and coordinate project objectives and promote MAPP project. Liaise with community partners to connect migrant workers to locally available resources and services. Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports. Work closely with the project partners to ensure coordinated progress on all project components.
Education And Skills Qualifications
Proficiency in Spanish is considered an essential qualification for this role. Knowledge in community development or non-profit management and/or equivalent experience. Excellent organizational and proven record of project management skills. Good understanding of diversity issues and experience of working in cross cultural settings. Ability to work effectively with representatives of the public and private sectors. Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to catalyze collaboration. Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and public speaking skills. Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills. Knowledge and experience in working in/with the Settlement Sector, especially with migrant workers, an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop resource documents. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Publisher, etc.). Familiarity and experience with various online tools and platforms. Experience facilitating large and small groups. High level of initiative is needed to work independently and respond to unanticipated items. Schedule flexibility to accommodate variations outside of regular business hours, as needed. Valid Nova Scotia driver's license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel.
