Speech Language Pathologist (Therapist)

Division Services Centre

Temporary Full Time – 35 hours per week

Position: A speech language pathologist is required to work with children/students with diverse learning needs in Pre-K to Grade 12. The successful candidate(s) will work as a member of the Student Learning Services team to support and provide services to children/students with delays in speech, language, and communication.

Duties Commence: August 26, 2026 until March 25, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications & Duties:

• Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.

• Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

• Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

• Excellent interpersonal/organizational skills.

• Experience working with young children and school-aged students with diverse needs and collaborating with team members.

• Assessment and program development, including goal development.

• Experience with administering standardized and observational speech and language assessments.

• High energy level and ability to physically support children in play.

• Experience with coaching classroom staff and families in implementing language and communication strategies in meaningful and engaging ways, within everyday routines in an inclusive setting.

• Facilitate pre-language and alternative communication skills, including low to high tech alternatives.

• Supervision of and planning for Speech Language Pathology Assistants.

• Facilitate Professional Development sessions for classroom and District staff.

• Experience with creating visuals, including the use of Boardmaker software. Experience with Social-Emotional Strategies is an asset.
