About the role
Purpose and Scope
To work in a conscientious and efficient manner to meet Company production standards, while flanging material to specific dimensions as outlined in drawings.
Organization Relationship
The Brake Press Operator has a direct responsibility to perform required job functions designated by the Sheet Metal Department Foreman in connection with work policies and procedures directed by the Company.
Working Conditions
The Brake Press Operator employee works in a controlled plant environment and will be expected to perform such actions of standing, lifting and bending. Personal protective equipment such as safety eyeglasses and boots are mandatory with emphasis on wearing gloves. Must be available to work both day and evening shifts in a rotation: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 3:30 PM - Midnight
*Duties *
- Read work orders and drawing to understand requirements of the job.
- Knowledge of complete set up of machine.
- To operate the Brake Press machine in a continuous manner while making sure that the product is being correctly flanged.
- Understand the difference in materials.
- Complete job quantities as required on the work order.
- Ensure machine is properly producing a quality part and any deficiencies are to be reported to the Grade 5 Brake Press Set Up Operator.
- Ensure proper stacking procedures are followed.
- Material is properly tagged.
- Tag/move fabricated parts to proper storage location.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that the machine is correctly flanging material to the correct dimensions
- Identify defects and bring the problem to the attention of the grade five Brake Press Set up Operator.
- To ensure proper quantities are being produced.
- Equipment is stored in proper area to remain in correct working order.
- To ensure parts are of quality.
- Follow all safety procedures, including use of equipment and safety devices, to ensure safe working environment for self and co-workers.
- Ensure cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Assist Foreman in training employees when required.
Education and Training
A Press Brake Operator, at minimum, is required to have a high school diploma, or equivalent. Human Resources can determine if education and experiences are considered ?equivalent?.
Forklift Truck Training.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.65 per hour
