What we are looking for:
A dedicated and organized Lead Receiving Clerk to join our team at our Spaccio East location in the East end of Toronto. Spaccio East houses a commissary, storefront and fully licensed restaurant. In this unique and beautifully designed space, wine, food and the theatrics of production meet. The ideal candidate will bring a hardworking and positive approach to working both independently and within a team.
Description of Role:
Reporting to Operations, you will be responsible for organizing and tracking the shipping and receiving of all products, materials, and supplies. You will also assist with the daily unloading of trucks and deliveries and follow up with sorting and stocking all products received. Taking inventory on a regular basis in order to identify items that need to be reordered or replenished and accurately documented inventory levels in software systems will also be a key responsibility of the role.
Receiving & Quality Control
- Receive all deliveries and verify against purchase orders and invoices
- Inspect all products for quality, temperature, and condition on arrival
- Reject or flag any items that do not meet company or food safety standards
- Ensure proper handling of perishable goods at the time of delivery
- Accurately log and sign off on all incoming shipments
Inventory Management
- Organize and store all products in designated areas (dry, refrigerated, frozen)
- Maintain strict FIFO practices and proper labeling (dates, product ID)
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report variances
- Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times
Internal Distribution & Fulfillment
- Pick, pack, and stage products for daily transfers to all locations
- Prepare and fulfill wholesale orders accurately and on time
- Coordinate with production and kitchen teams to ensure product availability
- Maintain clear documentation for outgoing orders and transfers
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP protocols
- Maintain proper temperature logs and storage conditions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Responsibilities include overseeing the following:
- No compromised product enters the facility
- Inventory is accurate, organized, and easy to navigate
- Walk-ins and storage areas are consistently clean and controlled
- Orders (internal and wholesale) go out complete and on time
- Issues are identified early and communicated clearly

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Punctual and dependable
- Clean and organized
- Professional and responsible team player
- Open and flexible availability
- Warehouse experience preferred
- Knowledge of inventory management software programs an asset
- Experience in receiving, inventory, or warehouse operations (food industry preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments
- Clear communication and accountability
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking
