Job details

AI Enablement Specialist Vancouver, BC | Hybrid (3-4 days in-office) | CAD $70,000-100,000 | Full-time About Monachus Monachus helps early-stage startups build scalable systems for compliance, security, and operations. Without the chaos. We're a small, high-trust team based in Vancouver, BC, and our clients are spread across North America. We work closely with founders and technical teams who are moving fast and need security and compliance done right, not just done. “Monachus” is Latin for monk, meaning diligent, dedicated, wise. If you care about doing high-quality work, being hands-on in the world of compliance, learning constantly, and having real ownership over outcomes, this is the kind of place where that actually happens. The Role We’re hiring an AI Enablement Specialist to help Monachus strengthen and scale its existing approach to AI-enabled work. This is a hands-on role for someone who has built AI-powered workflows, tools, or products and can apply that experience to real business problems. You’ll work closely with Monachus’ leadership and delivery teams to improve existing AI workflows, skills, and integrations, translate our AI vision into practical solutions, and help determine where AI, automation, or simpler process improvements are most effective. The role will support both internal operations and client engagements. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Vancouver. What Success Looks Like: Within 2 months: Build a strong understanding of Monachus’ existing AI workflows, priorities, and delivery model; identify improvements and ship your first improvement to an existing skill or workflow. Within 3 months: Improve and expand internal AI workflows, tools, or automations in partnership with the relevant teams, while helping shape clear standards for evaluating AI use cases. Within 6 months: Become a trusted internal resource for AI enablement and support client engagements by adapting Monachus’ established AI approach to client needs, risks, and delivery requirements. What You'll Do Review internal processes and identify opportunities for automation using AI, scripts, integrations, or other appropriate tools. Build and improve internal AI workflows, including skills, agents, and lightweight tooling. Help determine when AI is appropriate versus when a simpler automation or process change is a better fit. Partner with clients to assess their AI readiness and constraints, then design and deliver client-facing workflows, recommendations, and tools that support secure, practical adoption. Work with subject-matter experts to validate outputs and define appropriate quality, security, and accuracy standards, and build those checks into the workflows themselves. Support the build-out of Monachus’ MCP tooling and related integrations, such as adding, testing, and documenting new tools. Evaluate AI tools, models, APIs, and platforms, and recommend options that fit the use case. Communicate recommendations and technical decisions clearly to internal teams and clients. What We're Looking For Experience & Background Hands-on experience building, testing, or deploying AI/LLM-powered workflows, tools, products, or automations. Ability to explain what you built, the trade-offs involved, what did not work, and what you would change. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment about technology choices. Experience translating business or operational needs into usable technical workflows. Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Expertise in handling credentials, client data, and untrusted inputs safely when connecting AI tools. Tools & Systems Hands-on experience with Claude and AI workflow tooling (e.g. Claude Code, skills, and connectors) is a must. Familiarity with AI models, APIs, agent workflows, and tool-calling patterns. Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar frameworks is helpful; deep expertise is not required. Comfortable evaluating and integrating AI tools and APIs. Comfortable with Google Workspace, Slack, and lightweight API-level integrations. Experience with GitHub or other modern version control tools Experience with model gateways such as OpenRouter is an asset. Bonus Points Experience applying AI in security, compliance, risk, or GRC settings. Experience configuring MCP gateways or related AI integration infrastructure. Experience working in a consulting or services environment. Experience building internal tools or productizing repeatable services. Engineering fundamentals, such as Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, are a plus. Culture Fit Matters at Monachus You’ll Thrive Here If You Constantly look for ways to improve systems, workflows, and delivery quality Collaborate well and prioritize alignment over ego Can take direction, follow operating systems, and improve them instead of fighting them Move fast without sacrificing quality Take ownership and operate with high accountability Enjoy building scalable processes and improving how work gets done Are curious about new tools and technologies and actively experiment with AI to improve how work gets done Why Monachus Direct impact with startup founders and leadership teams Small, high-trust team with autonomy Strong focus on quality, structure, and continuous improvement Work that values originality, depth, and thoughtful execution over templates or audit checklists Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We review every application. If you're a fit, someone from our team will reach out within 5 business days to introduce themselves and share next steps.
