What it’s like to be a Northbridge Commercial Underwriter, Manufacturing (New Business)? Our Underwriters customize solutions for our commercial clients when they need insurance products. They work closely with our extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk. Through close collaboration with our Risk Services and Claims departments they can get a holistic picture of each risk and make Underwriting decisions that make sense for all parties. They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders and love utilizing their strong technical skills to ensure that risks are assessed properly. They are experts in their field and passionate about servicing our brokers – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and broker meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. If you are great at: Commercial Underwriting Executing renewal rates and exposure, retention, and rate adequacy guidelines Analyzing new business for risk profitability Monitoring trends and developments, identifying areas of concern regarding loss ratio Building relationships If you have: 3+ years of Underwriting experience with a commercial/manufacturing focus Completed, or pursuing your CIP designation (an asset) Strong customer service background Experience connecting with clients in a virtual world Team-first mentality We really mean it when we say we put you first.
