Therapist 1 FTE Thunder Bay Site One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services. We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy to clients experiencing complex mental health concerns. The Therapist will work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and community-based setting, while demonstrating sensitivity to socio-economic, cultural, and diversity-related issues. Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to accessing care, including those with complex health and social needs. The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefits package. The salary range for this position is from $66,881 to $83,187 per year. Compensation will commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. We currently do not use AI to screen resumes. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field. Registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing therapy and treating individuals with complex mental health concerns. Experience working with individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is considered an asset. Experience working in a community-based or outpatient mental health setting. Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records (EMRs) and other relevant software programs. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team. Awareness of and sensitivity to socio-economic, cultural, and diversity-related issues. Awareness of and sensitivity to the health needs of populations facing barriers to accessing care, including individuals who are underhoused, living with mental health challenges, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, newcomers, uninsured individuals, Indigenous Peoples, and Black communities. Valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel to other service locations. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field and possess registration with a relevant Ontario regulatory college. A minimum of two years of clinical experience and a valid driver's licence with access to a vehicle are required.
