Job summary
Position Title Theatre Work Study Position Department English Position School School of Communications and Information Systems Overview A successful candidate for a student work-study position is preferred to have competency in at least one of the following areas: Set Design and Carpentry; Lighting Design and Electricity; Sound Design and Mixing or Stage Management. Competency includes the ability to develop, read and execute designs. The candidate must be able to attend load-ins, show runs and strikes. A secondary competency, team leadership skills and ability to take and attend to direction is highly desirable. Responsibilities • Assist in technical aspects of production (ex. carpentry, lighting, sound, electrical) • Help with builds, load ins, strikes • 10 hours/ week, using Time Entry * Demonstrate independent, safe, and responsible work habits • Assist with other shows/ events in Massey on an as-needed basis along with GA. • Works not more than 20 hours per week, not more than 950 hours per calendar year. OT time and a half for hours more than 40 hours per week (with budge manager approval). Minimum Qualifications Applicants should be RMU students in good standing with skills in the above areas, personal responsibility, and a willingness to learn.
