What Sofina Foods Offers Weekly Pay starting at $38.05 per hour Overtime regularly available Full comprehensive benefits after 720 hrs probation Pension Plan with matching employer contributions Annual pay increase and Bonus’s Supplied uniforms Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, our state-of-the-art facility in Mitchell ON is recruiting a Refrigeration B Operator to join our team. As a Refrigeration Operator, you are directly responsible for the care and maintenance of the facility boilers, Ammonia/Freon refrigeration units and rooftop HVAC units and performing other duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager. Night shift: Sun – Wed 9:00pm - 7:30am (4 - 10.5-hour shifts) Key Accountabilities: Maintain/monitor/test/log all utility readings and deviations from/for all refrigeration equipment, meters, lines, tanks etc. while adhering to TSSA standards Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations Interacting with all necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and/or legal requirements Perform routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities on the equipment Maintain/complete all necessary adjustments/parameters and tests on equipment’s Complete logbooks, work orders and apply corrective actions in a timely manner utilizing the computerized maintenance management system Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the plant and powerhouse are operating in accordance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (T.S.S.A.) Ensure all work performed complies with governing practices, codes and regulations, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP. WHIMS, MSDS and Sofina policy requirements. Requirements: Must hold a Refrigeration Class B ticket in good standing with the T.S.S.A. with 2-3 years of work experience in a food processing environment Practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems Strong knowledge and experience maintaining and trouble-shooting refrigeration equipment (ammonia/freon) Experience working with SOPs/GMPs is considered an asset Excellent communication and teamwork skills Build your career, apply today!
