Mileage reimbursement. Cell phone reimbursement. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Support children, youth and families across the GTA as a Volunteer Driver with the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. Based on your location and availability, this may include Toronto, York, Durham, Peel and beyond. In this role, you’ll provide transportation for children and youth, including transportation to family visits, foster care homes, residences and appointments. You’ve got the wheels. Help children and youth get where they need to go. What you can expect Flexible driving schedules that fit your availability Mileage and cell phone reimbursement Detailed orientation and ongoing support What you’ll need A vehicle and valid Class G driver’s licence Minimum 5 years of driving experience (does not have to be in Canada or Ontario) Proof of insurance and a well-maintained vehicle Ability to carry out role responsibilities Willingness to attend training and supervision Once screened and interviewed, you will be required to provide references and complete a child welfare check. You will then complete a Vulnerable Sector Check, vehicle safety test, and submit a driver’s abstract. All required checks and tests will be reimbursed The role Provide door-to-door transportation for children and youth Ensure safety, including appropriate car seats Assist with lifting bags and young children Store and maintain car seat provided by CAST that you will keep throughout your time as a volunteer Maintain confidentiality Communicate with our staff and complete required documentation Interested or have questions? Requirements
Applicants need access to a well-maintained, insured vehicle, a valid Class G driver's licence, and at least five years of driving experience. They must be able to perform the role's responsibilities, attend training and supervision, and complete the required references, child welfare and vulnerable sector checks, vehicle safety test, and driver's abstract submission.
