Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A Location: Ontario Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shift: Straight Days Pay: Up to $46/hour We are currently seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to join a manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. Key Responsibilities Install, align, dismantle, relocate, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission components. Maintain equipment such as pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and automated production/packaging equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. Perform precision equipment alignment and basic fabrication or modification of parts. Operate lifting and hoisting equipment such as cranes and jacks when required. Use machine tools such as lathes and grinders for basic part fabrication or modification. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to support efficient plant operations. Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, and other safety procedures. Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A certification – Red Seal preferred/required. Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program. 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Experience with equipment installation, alignment, repair, and preventive maintenance. Basic understanding of electrical components such as motors, sensors, and control systems. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Assets Experience working with heavy chain conveyor systems. Experience with automated manufacturing or packaging equipment. Familiarity with PLCs and automated systems. Experience using a CMMS. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, TPM/RCM, or continuous improvement. Forklift, crane, rigging and hoisting experience. Training in hydraulics, pneumatics, vibration analysis, or predictive maintenance. WHMIS, Working at Heights, LOTO, Confined Space, and First Aid/CPR certifications. Gas Technician 1 (G.1) certification. Working Conditions Full-time straight day shift. Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and dust. Position requires standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working with tools and equipment. May occasionally require working in confined spaces. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
