Contract Senior Operator - Must be within travelling distance to Chipmunk/Gift Lake area as travel is not provided About the Opportunity Our oil and gas client is a privately owned Canadian heavy oil producer with a portfolio of high-quality, proven, low-risk assets. The company has experienced significant growth since its founding and is committed to creating stakeholder value through safe, responsible operations and an empowering work environment. Our oil and gas client has an opportunity for a Contract Senior Operator in a remote operating area. As a member of a high-energy operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of wells and facilities. The position requires flexibility to work additional hours and participate in an on-call rotation as operational needs arise. Job Type Full-time contract Compensation Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and the responsibilities of the position. Experience A minimum of 10 years of oil and gas field experience is required. Preference for Heavy oil and Gas Plant Experience A valid ABSA steam ticket or experience in electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical work would be considered an asset. Main Responsibilities Operate and maintain wellsite pads and associated equipment, including progressive cavity pumps, wellsite engines, hydraulically driven equipment, produced-gas fuel systems, fired equipment and burner management systems, storage and treating facilities, blowers, and combustors. Consistently meet or exceed expectations for health and safety, community relations, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, company policies, and corporate values. Perform safety responsibilities such as hazard assessments and permitting. Keep all wells and facilities in a safe, orderly, and compliant condition and address deficiencies and operational issues. Complete daily production reporting using production management and SCADA systems. Identify and implement opportunities to maximize production, control operating costs, and minimize downtime. Qualifications Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely and effectively with limited supervision. Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Competent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a satisfactory driver's abstract. Schedule Rotational 8 days on / 6 days off schedule. Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Work Arrangement On-site field position in a remote operating area. The successful candidate will be required to stay in camp during scheduled work rotations. Daily subsistence will be provided.

Requirements

Candidates need strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, effective communication and teamwork, computer proficiency, a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a satisfactory abstract, and the ability to work safely with limited supervision; an ABSA steam ticket or electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical experience is an asset.
