Key Responsibilities Coordinate the end-to-end movement of LTL shipments, from pickup through final delivery, ensuring freight is transported efficiently and in line with customer service requirements. Plan, consolidate, and optimize loads based on shipment volume, destination, available capacity, service requirements, transit times, and transportation costs. Manage assigned transportation lanes, including carrier selection, lane coverage, pricing, capacity, and ongoing service performance. Source and coordinate carriers for available shipments, negotiate rates when required, and build strong, reliable relationships with transportation partners. Monitor shipments throughout the transportation cycle and proactively manage exceptions, including missed pickups, delays, delivery issues, damages, and other service disruptions. Partner closely with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and other internal teams to coordinate transportation requirements and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Maintain accurate shipment, carrier, rate, and delivery information within the TMS, ensuring all transportation documentation and records are complete and up to date. Monitor transportation spend and carrier performance, identify opportunities to improve service levels and reduce costs, and communicate relevant findings to management. Provide timely and accurate shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders, maintaining a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Support the continuous improvement of transportation processes, carrier coverage, and operational efficiency as business volumes and customer requirements evolve.
