Seeking an experienced cook with a cheerful disposition and an ability to independently prepare high volumes of food in a kids-centric environment. The primary responsibility of the KC Cook is to creatively design and prepare a good variety of nutritionally balanced and attractively presented snacks and a hot lunch for children enrolled in lessons at the KC and the Tot Town Daycare. To be considered, all applicants must submit a resume with at least two contactable references. Applicants must be able to complete or hold the Level 1 Food Safe BC certificate, and provide a copy of any relevant current certifications in culinary training. RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare a good variety of nutritionally balanced, creatively designed, and attractively presented snacks and hot lunch meals for children enrolled in lessons at the Kids Centre and the Tot Town Daycare. (Cold AM snack, Hot lunch, Cold PM snack). * Work independently to meet food service deadline and perform all steps of ordering, storing, prep, cooking, plating, cleaning and record keeping related to the kitchen. * Practice safe and sanitary preparation of food at all times. * Prepare food for guests with dietary requirements in a responsible and disciplined manner. * Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area in accordance with licensing standards. * Maintain an up-to-date inventory of food and drinks available at the KC. * Submit food and drink purchase orders in a timely fashion. * Exercise appropriate portion control for the numbers of children in the KC on any given day to minimize waste when possible. * Be available to start early 1 day per week to prepare staff breakfast for morning meeting if scheduled. * Work co-operatively and maintain ongoing communication with other program staff. * Take appropriate action to deal with incidents, problems, and emergencies. * Belief in the Big White mission statement 'To go the extra mile to ensure our visitors enjoy a memorable alpine experience in a positive, safe and friendly environment. DETAILS: * Wage: $23/hr * Full-time, seasonal role * Mid-November 2026-April 2027 PHYSICAL DEMANDS Include standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, lifting or carrying up to 40lbs, reaching. VISA REQUIREMENTS * Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
