Description: The Terrain Park and Outdoor Events Team position is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance of all box, rail and snow features in our terrain park. The team will also plan and construct all event venues. The team will be responsible for setting up and executing aspects of the competitions and working in conjunction with outside sport associations or industry partners. Our terrain park crew will be working very closely with the outdoor events team as we host a variety of events from entry-level Ski and snowboard slopestyle events all the way up to National and World Cup level boarder cross and ski cross races. This position requires the ability to work hard and put in extra hours in order to achieve a world class terrain park and events operation. Position Requirements/Skills: * The ability to work hard in a team environment * Motivated work ethic * Previous experience in terrain parks and the trades such as construction, concrete, farming, landscaping, is an asset * Good communication skills * Intermediate/advanced riding/skiing skills * Focused and determined individuals with a great attention to detail * The ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions for long hours * Previous outdoor events experience considered an asset * Providing our guests with great customer service, and a unique visitor experience * Work day and evening shifts. The number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends, holidays and events Duties and Responsibilities: * Representing Big White Ski Resort in a mature and professional manner * Ability to follow directions and work hard * The building and daily maintenance of the park features and set up, execution and tear down of an outdoor event sites * To ensure utmost risk management and awareness of our resort guests * Daily terrain park operations including park set up, maintenance, and breakdown on an as-needed basis. * Interact with customers on a daily basis to educate and inform them of rules and etiquette of outdoor events and terrain parks & safety tips Physical Demands: * Strong mental approach to hard work and long hours * Capable of Riding/ Skiing * Good physical condition * Able to carry heavy materials while riding (up to 40lbs/18kg) First Year Wage: $19.50
