The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests and ensuring they are sat at their table in a timely fashion. Duties and Responsibilities * Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting * Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists * Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas * Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options * Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, special occasion, allergies) * Assists service staff as needed * Strong organization skills with ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell * Build relationships with guests * Adhere to uniform standards and job specific standard operation procedures Qualifications, Skills and Abilities * Previous work experience as a Host or Hostess is an asset * Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays * Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain * Excellent communication skills via in person * Previous knowledge using OpenTable is an asset

Requirements

Previous experience as a host is considered an asset, along with strong organizational and communication skills. Candidates must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or be willing to obtain one and maintain flexible availability.
