The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently seeking applications for the position of Permit Intake Clerk.
The successful incumbents will work under the direction of the Plan Examiner, receives and reviews building permit applications, construction plans, specifications and documents to ensure complete application in compliance with Ontario Building Code and other laws and/or by-laws. Responds to enquiries regarding the Ontario Building Code.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) year post-secondary Diploma in architectural, engineering or building technology programs or other relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum six (6) months previous relevant experience. Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
- Must possess or in process of obtaining the following Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing BCIN qualification requirements for building officials: General Legal and House.
- Ability to read and interpret design and construction drawings.
- Demonstrated and proficient knowledge in computers including Microsoft office and on-line applications; experience with PSD Citywide is considered an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
- Excellent organizational, customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set and shift priorities as required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
