Additional Benefits Include Approximate hourly wage: $16.75 - $18.77 Comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits plan, including an Employee and Family Assistance Program Life, travel, and other insurances Access to virtual healthcare 24/7 for FREE through the group health benefit plan Pension plan Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insurance Free onsite parking Access to thousands of perks vendors and discounts through our WorkPerks program, including excellent discounts for apparel, restaurants, technology, fitness, travel, and tickets to some of your favorite sports and entertainment events Access to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safety About The Opportunity Sorts laundry into appropriate piles based on the type of laundry and how soiled the laundry is, and selects the proper formula and cycles used in washing and drying Operates washing machine using proper washing formulas; loads soiled laundry into the machine, sets dial so wash cycle is appropriate for type of load being washed and unloads clean laundry Operates dryer and extractor; loads clean, wet laundry into the machine, sets dials so the laundry is dried or damp-dried appropriately and unloads the machine Sorts clean laundry into appropriate baskets or racks; counts linen needed for each area as per linen quota and puts on cart; notes name tags on resident clothing and puts on correct rack Picks up soiled laundry and delivers clean laundry to resident areas within the facility using laundry carts Checks laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc. and forwards clothing needing repairs to the facility designate Sweeps and mops the floors in the laundry area and cleans sorting tables with disinfectant. Performs all other duties as assigned Standing for extended periods of time, as required Reading/seeing documentation both in paper format and on a computer screen for extended periods of time Bending and lifting to 50 lbs Additional duties as assigned/required About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: High School diploma or equivalent education Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices Knowledge of basic garment and linen care Operation of commercial laundry equipment Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset Previous experience working in a retirement living or long-term care facility an asset

Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with knowledge of infection prevention and control, basic garment and linen care, and commercial laundry equipment. Candidates must obtain a clear Criminal Record Check and, where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check; First Aid and CPR certification and experience in retirement living or long-term care are assets.
