Senior Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer 1 year contract to start Work Arrangement: Hybrid 1–2 days per week, with remote flexibility for the right candidate Rate: $85–$95/hour Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer to join an insurance technology team supporting the development, configuration, integration, and enhancement of PolicyCenter solutions. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and Gosu, along with a solid understanding of Guidewire architecture, configuration, workflows, integrations, and development tools. This role will involve collaborating with technical and business teams in an Agile environment to deliver reliable solutions and support ongoing modernization and improvement of the insurance platform. Key Responsibilities Develop, configure, and enhance Guidewire PolicyCenter applications based on business and technical requirements. Build and maintain PolicyCenter functionality using Gosu and Guidewire development frameworks. Configure user interfaces, workflows, business rules, and related PolicyCenter components. Work with Guidewire Studio and IntelliJ for development and configuration activities. Utilize Guidewire accelerators, standard plugins, batch processes, and platform capabilities. Apply a strong understanding of Guidewire architecture and the relationships between its core components. Develop and maintain integrations between PolicyCenter and external applications. Implement integrations using REST APIs, web services, messaging frameworks, and related technologies. Participate in technical design, development, unit testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities. Investigate and resolve application defects and integration issues. Contribute to code reviews and promote consistent development and engineering standards. Work within Agile delivery teams and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, refinement, and other development ceremonies. Collaborate with analysts, architects, QA professionals, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, processes, and technical solutions. Required Qualifications 5+ years of relevant IT/software development experience for a senior-level candidate. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter. Proven development and configuration experience using Gosu. Experience with PolicyCenter UI configuration and workflow development. Experience working with Guidewire Studio and IntelliJ. Knowledge of Guidewire tools, accelerators, predefined plugins, and batch processing. Strong understanding of Guidewire architecture and platform components. Experience integrating PolicyCenter with external systems. Practical experience with REST APIs, web services, and message queues. Experience working in an Agile software development environment. Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins, and Confluence. Guidewire Associate Certification is mandatory. Nice-to-Have Technical Skills Experience with Java/J2EE development. Strong understanding of Java design principles and object-oriented development. Experience writing unit tests using JUnit. Knowledge of XML and related web technologies. Experience working on insurance technology or policy administration platforms. Exposure to Guidewire implementation, modernization, or upgrade projects. Work Location The role is primarily remote/hybrid, with an expectation of approximately 1–2 days per week in an office environment where required. Fully remote arrangements may be considered for an exceptionally strong candidate. Potential office locations include Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Guelph, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Calgary.
